As a teacher for nine years, Beth Thomas has taught mathematics in 5th – 12th grades.  She holds a B.S. degree in mathematics from Furman University and is certified in secondary education.  Mrs. Thomas has completed postgraduate studies at the Medical University of South Carolina.  She has been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and Kappa Delta Pi teaching honor society.

Mrs. Thomas is married to Chad Thomas, a surgeon at Habersham Medical Center.  They have four children – Hannah, Morgan, Ella, and Van.  She is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she plays trombone in the orchestra.  In her free time she enjoys cross-stitch and baking. 

As a teacher, Beth believes that the learning environment should be engaging and stimulating for all students.  Her uses a hands-on approach, allowing students to progress through a sense of discovery.  She knows that a great indicator of student success is parental involvement.  Open and frequent communication with parents is one of her top priorities.
